Welcome to our online community of dedicated content contributors and visitors whose view of the world, we encourage, is characterized by perspective, tolerance and soulful appreciation for the richness diverse human expression can bestow, no matter one's station or position in life.

The Quill and the Hawk signifies the Poet-Warrior indigenous to each of us, honors 'exaltation' and venerates 'justice' for all. 

The internet and digital blogging communities such as this have opened the world up to connecting at a level never seen before. With simple strokes of the keyboard we can reach across to each other and find moments of shared humanity through the artful and dedicated contributions our visitors profer with their offerings. 

What this community is.

Our community welcomes appreciation for tolerance and cultural, ethnic and racial diversity; service to the underserved among us; poetic expression; inspiring tales, stories that compel reflection and soothe the hurtful realities of despair; embraces inclusion of all faiths, religions and creeds; and provides a virtual home for whom loneliness or those adrift without human connection can find solace and respite. 

What this community is not.

Our community is totally free from endorsing any one political declaration, religion or faith system and gladly decries marginalization of any sort or to any degree.

... personal reflections, essays, true stories, remembrances, photography, music files, poetry, original fiction, and the like

... favorite food or beverage recipes you'd like to share 

... endorsements of must see movies, favorite streaming episodes or links to You Tube videos (fiction, non-fiction, comedy, etc)

... reviews of can't miss restaurants, breweries, wineries, music and entertainment venues, travel destinations, et al  

Anyone interested in submitting content to The Quill and the Hawk can do so via email to: quillandthehawk@gmail.com.  Once your submissions are reviewed and found to be consistent with our stated mission to provide artful expressions 'exalting' inspiration and lauding 'justice', we will gladly consider publishing your offerings on our blog. Confidentiality is always protected for those who wish to publish but declare their intention to remain anonymous.

Importantly, any comment or commenter found to be insulting, threatening or in anyway inappropriate in its effect to a published post or another commenter will be removed permanently at the discretion of the blog's proprietor. While thoughtful and constructive criticism is always welcome, personally hurtful and vulgar obiter dictum is not.

Finally, The Quill and the Hawk neither seeks nor accepts monetary consideration for any content you may submit that we post. A 'contributor' to our blog is not one who is being asked for a donation or to 'subscribe' in any way. We are free from any expectation that you will spend anything but time, your comments and/or, hopefully, some form of contributed content reflecting your insights, passions and creativity. We offer no ad support and are thusly not-for-profit in practice and intent.
